Roshambo, our floating home. Check here for photos, regularily updated blog and stories of our adventures. Stuart, on South Hutchinson Island.

Specs: Roshambo is a Cal 3-46, as far as i can figure out there were about 25 3-46's made and close to 100 2-46's made. Both the designer and the manufacturer retired to a Cal 46. They are 46 feet long, 12'6" wide. Roshambo has a bridge clearance of 55 feet, draft of 5' and displacement of 31,000. Cutter rigged and driven by an 85hp Perkins she is a pretty quick bluewater cruiser.

Painting is completed!

Topside anyhow, I plan on painting the hull when we haul in March.

I will snap photos this weekend!

Yacht Specialties Pedestal Fun

So about 2 years ago i took the pedestal apart, there is a plastic section that the throttle and shifter run through. It was all cracked to hell. So i epoxy'd it up knowing I would be back at some point. Seeing as yacht specialties went broke in 1989 I was hoping I would be able to find something to repair it rather then place the entire pedestal.

New Photos Of Engine Repaint Project

http://svroshambo.com/v/engine/

I did this with the POR-15 system and it went VERY well. The first coat in gray is the por 15, I used their Marine Clean, then the Metal Ready, then the POR-15 then the POR Engine Enamel. As you can probably see from the pics it really turned out nice and I recommend this system for anyone looking to paint their motor.

Putting the new oven in tomorrow!

Can't wait, I'm tired of dealing with the current one, it's frustrating. Hopefully it will be a smooth process!

Weather Not Cooperating, but The Show Must Go On!

It's been raining every day this week so I had to abandon the deck painting and take on a new project. This one was the engine repaint. As many boaters know if you have an inboard engine you've got to keep up on paint or you'll have your motor eaten out from underneath you. I decided to go with POR-15 and I am glad I did, this stuff is AWESOME. I first started with the Marine Clean, this stuff removed diesel fuel in less than 5 minutes, spray it on, hose it off. Then you use the metal prep, spray it on and keep it wet for 30 mins. After that you let it dry and you start painting.

Server Move!

If you are reading this you've made it to the new server. I outgrew our old dedicated server and we needed something a little bitter. This one is a quad core with 8 GIGS!! of memory.

Been a while, lots of updates

This is going to be a long one, so click it if you want to read everything.

SCREW THAT HORSESHIT.

end of story

Been working too much, but progress is happening

Well I took 4 days off work last week, I made some serious progress. The boat is now 3/4's done. All that is left is a hatch, the cockpit and a small section outside the cockpit.

Project Progress has come to a stand still

Well I've been working a lot and every day that i have off it rains, I taped out the next phase of painting a week ago and that's as far as I've gotten :(
