Well it's been an interesting trip, actually it's been a series of crap, but oh well. I've never had so many things go wrong all at once.
Our first issue was the wind generator, bearing went out on it on the second day of the trip at allens pensacola. Then we went to put the dinghy in the water and the dinghy motor ran like shit, later on in the trip the motor completely died, lower end is out and i think one cylinder has no compression.
Once we made it to Green Turtle Cay and checked in we planned on staying for 2 days, do some diving and heading to Guana. We had a pretty bad storm and the anchor drug, in the process of resetting the anchor I discovered the exhaust elbow was completely rusting, dumping water and exhaust into the engine room. That was Thursday. On friday i got some exhaust and temporarily fixed it enough to get us into white sound and grab a mooring ball, that was a week ago. Monday we took the ferry to Treasure Cay, then a rental car to Marsh Harbour to have CJ's Welding make a new exhaust elbow. It was supposed to be done by Wednesday if all went well.... all did not go well and we are hoping it's done on Monday so we can get the heck out of here. We have to row everywhere which in this heat is a lot of work, so we're pretty much just hanging out in white sound.
With any luck we'll be out of here Tuesday morning, which I think will take a lot of luck, but we'll see. Then we are going to have to haul ass. I had hoped to take our time getting back, green turtle to allans, allans to great sale and great sale to west end, then west end home. At this point we will prolly have to make the 18 hour haul strait to west end, then home which will get us home 2 days later than scheduled.
We heard from our friends that the same night we drug anchor three boats washed up in Great Sale Cay with a lot of damage. Hopefully those people are safe and doing good now, sans their vessel :(
